Golfers make Thanksgiving special for Council on Aging clients

Golf for Turkey day on Sunday, November 22 at Kissimmee Bay Country Club and Remington Golf Club saw over 350 players show their support for their community. For every golfer that played on Nov. 22, resulted in one pound of turkey being donated to the Osceola Council on Aging, equating to over 350 pounds of Turkey to help feed folks right here in our community.

The Council on Aging serves as Food Bank for Osceola County and serves and delivers Thanksgiving dinner to seniors and less-fortunate residents of Osceola County.

“This was enough turkey to meet the increased demand this holiday season,” said Cathy Arft, head of the Council on Aging’s kitchen staff. “The Council fed over 500 people this Thanksgiving, thanks to the help of local golfers” said Janice Casler from the Council.
